Exfoliating your Lips

Did you know that your lips can benefit from exfoliation, just like the rest of your face and body?  Indeed, gently lifting away dead skin cells is a good way to stimulate the production of new collagen, and counteract some of the effects of aging.  If you want to maintain your beautiful lips after your lip augmentation with our Tacoma botox clinic, try one of these easy exfoliation methods you can do at home with common household ingredients.

  • The Sugar and Honey Method: Combine sugar with honey, going a little heavier on the sugar.  This mixture should then be rubbed into your lips in a circular motion and left in place for a few minutes.

  • The Petroleum Jelly Method: Find a toothbrush with soft, straight bristles.  Coat this brush with a bit of petroleum jelly and gently scrub your lips in a circular motion.  The jelly can then be left on your lips to rehydrate them.

  • The Sugar and Olive Oil Method: This is a good option for somebody who wants to exfoliate quickly without leaving a strange substance on her lips.  Take a bit of olive oil and mix it with sugar until it forms a pasty compound.  Rub it in a circular motion across your lips, and then rinse it off with warm water.  Rehydrate and protect the newly exposed skin by applying a lip balm.
