What is Eczema?

If you think that you or a member of your family may be suffering from eczema, our Botox clinic in Tacoma has the facts you need.

Eczema is an inflammation of the skin, typically manifesting as an itchy, dry, red patch. You can get eczema on any part of your body, though it most typically appears on the face, neck, elbows, knees, wrists, ankles, and groin.

Though most people will outgrow eczema after infancy, some people will continue to be prone to eczema into adulthood. This is generally a genetic trait, so if you have a family history of eczema, you are likely to suffer from it as well.

The condition can be triggered by many things, including stress, irritating fabrics or other substances, heat, dry climates, or anything else that might dry out the skin. Contact your doctor for more information.
